Fuck.

English book for assignment that are to be written in Swedish; the most evil of evils come back to haunt me. And people in lab are talking, most likely about Stupid, Irrelevant stuff. I cannot think, nor read, much less read, think and translate into something that makes sense.

(no subject)

I fail oh so badly at updating this. Tales from the Lab updates daily but this, I do not know. I have lots of news. That I will write about at some other time. School-wise I've been spending the last couple of days drawing fairytale creatures such as Snow White,  Red Riding Hood and the Wolf:

Now I am making backgrounds. It is boring.

Tales From The Lab

There is now a blog specially dedicated to CCG and what could loosely be called my school work life stuff. It gets updated more often than this one, but is also kinda high on CCG Mentality so you might want to be careful:

Tales From The Lab

Deadline for the Motion Graphics Assignment I was whining about some time ago was yesterday and the film I made will come up here in due time. The film I made as well as some of my classmates work will be up on the Tales from the Lab blogg soon as well (probably sooner than I will get it posted here .

CCG Continued

Got our first Motion Graphics assignment today, it's due in 10 days and it seems like a shitload of work to do. And this is the 'small' assignment. It also seems to presume that you have somewhat decent knowledge of After Effects, which I would hesitate to say I have. Expressions in AE? I think Not.

Programming is taunting me. 'I get this' I say, and then Python goes "I am disinclined to acquiesce to your request. Meeeans Noooo". When you actually do understand and when it actually do work it is kinda fun though. But it took me hours and much re-reading Think Python to just begin to understand what def is supposed to do.

Tomorrow I should:
Download QuickTime to lab computer
Buy books for Programming and Motion Graphics
Buy Headphones
Do more programming exercises

Skolstart

Fail.

Nu ska Python installeras på hemmadatorn.

Summer So Far; Relatives Visiting and Visiting Relatives

If there's one thing you can't get away from during summer, it is meeting your relatives (not saying that you can get away from meeting them during the rest of the year). We had relatives visiting, and we travelled across the country to visit other relatives. Summer So Far Part 3 :)

Relatives Visiting and Visiting Relatives

My aunt with family came all by and stayed with us for a few days. Save being attacked by their family pet it was lots of fun. The youngest cousin, whom I'm admittedly was a bit scared of, in the way that he is kinda small and I don't know what he wants, took a weird liking to me. Weird because everyone else was trying to charm him in different ways (yeah so the kid is really cute and everyone's trilled because he's the youngest in the family and so on) and I was just doing my best to keep out of his way and for some reason he decided he approved of my sneaking away-ness and decided to follow me around like a tail. I was somewhat shocked and a bit afraid; I mean the kid is sooo small, though considerable bigger than last time I say him and he wasn't even walking yet, and I donno how to act around that little people (the kids I've worked with has been at least 2-3 years older). My aunt seemed somewhat happy about the entire thing and kept sneaking away to get coffee, leaving me alone to entertain the two year old (payback, much? Apparently I was stalking my aunt around much in the same fashion when I was little and she was younger than I am now). As I said I have no idea how to please a kid that young, even if this particular one turned out to be easily amused; I simply followed his lead and promptly looked the other way and pretended everything was as it ought to be when he was playing with horses and making them say 'bäääh'. Then made him a helicopter in Maya, which was approved of but apparently not reached the same high standard as the toy-train my mum dug out from some closet. It did however earn me the respect of my older cousin, who thought it was rather 'jättecoolt'. I'm sure his father is getting him Maya now and that he will be beating my modeling skillz to a bloody pulp next time I seem him. This kid has tech skills I sourly lack (sometime I will bring him to the lab and have him beat the s*** out of my classmates at CoD).

While the modeled helicopter wasn't the most entertaining thing , me trying to study was apparently kind of amusing and had to be interrupted. Here we are reading Learning Autodesk Maya 2009 - Foundation (which I can recommend to everyone who looks at Maya and thinks '?!?')

In the mist of relatives visiting my sister just so happened to turn 15. This was celebrated by the arrival of even more relatives, as well as with awesome food and cake:

A few days later, when the relatives had packed up their stuff and gone home, the time had come for us to pack our stuff and squeeze into the car for a eight hour journey across the country to my father's parents and other family members on the west coast. Our stay there was not all that long, but enough to eat awesome food with my uncles' family and drink martini blanco with my grandmother. Said grandmother also devised a special time of day to point out to me that today's fashion with trash jeans is about the worst thing she knows of and that my jeans is about the worst thing she has seem in her life. Truly uplifting to know, but I love my jeans and will not put them away until they crumble to pieces and fall off my legs. My cousin's jeans is apparently a bit better, as is my sisters'.

It was nice going home when we did, and next I once again packed my bag and got on a train..

Summer So Far; Järpen - Östersund - Järpen

I do realise that I whine a lot about my people going home over summer, but contrary to popular belief I have not just been sitting around at home brooding about it. Apart from hitching a ride to Ylwa in Uppsala, I have also traveled by train across half the country in order to hunt down Lolino The Lolita Friend Of A Glorious Misspent Youth (who is moving abroad btw) as well as Olov The Classmate With Golden Locks Who Also Was Shot Three Times In The Head With A Rifle ( and who will get a better title once I think of one). Here's Summer So Far (Part Two).

Järpen - Östersund - Järpen

"What are you doing?" Olov asked me over msn in the very beginning of the summer.
"I am listening to music and planning a possible trip to Brunflo" I answered.
"Lol wtf Brunflo?" Olov said, using the language appropriate for such a conversation, "Why??"
"Do you object to Brunflo?" I asked, failing to use the appropriate language.
"Well, there's not much there" Olov said, being nice about it "I should know, I live close by."
"I have a friend living there, she's moving after the summer, so I thought to visit her before she moves and I'll have to travel across half of Europe to see her" I explained. .
"Hm. I'm guessing that's a reason to go to Brunflo" Olov responded, likely unconvinced "You should come visit me."

Said and done. I packed my stuff, picked up a ticket and went to Järpen (well, there was a bit more planning to it, but I'd like to come of as spontaneous).

Järpen, for those who do not know, is a pretty little place up north. You get there by taking the Gävle-Östersund-Storlien X-train to Östersund, then you stay on the train about an hour more (hiding out in the bathroom if you have to) and that would bring you safe and sound to your destination. The train station was found to be tiny but there was a very nice old bench which I slouched on while waiting for Olov to get there and meet me. After that the weekend was spent chilling out in the best way possible. There was walking across fields, bathing in the middle of the woods, lots of candy, sleeping on floor and obligatory stealing of pillows.

Then I had to continue my journey. By backtracking.
...

"I'm gonna go to Järpen at the same time as I'm visiting you" I told Lolino over msn.
"Järpen?" Lolino asked. "Why on earth are you going to Järpen?!"
"..." I said "Why not?"
"Järpen is dead" Lolino said, not being nice about it.
"Lol" I responded, now using proper wording "That is almost exactly the same thing the person I'm visiting in Järpen said when I told him you lived in Brunflo XD"
"I do not live in Brunflo" Lolino most tenderly explained "I live in Östersund. There's a difference."

Going from Järpen to Östersund is a bit like going from Valbo to Stockholm. While Järpen is small and nice and not exactly crawling with people, Östersund has McDonalds, more stores than you may actually need, and a Market Square that is being rebuilt. While living in Bollnäs studying the IB programme Lolino and I had a crack for eating pizza and watching Jane Austen movies. They say old habits die hard and thus the five days I was in Östersund were spent eating Fast Food of varying standard, watching Movies, and slacking of to Bones.

Awesome Chinese food:

We also ran into Maja The IB Classmate, which was very nice.

...
After Sunday to Friday in Östersund I went back to Järpen. Why? Because I wanted to. This weekend was spent in the same manner as the previous one, with the addition of movie watching. We got through The Cell, which was good, and The Cell 2, which was less good. On Monday I unfortunately had to get on a train go back to Gävle.

Next I was to get dragged away across the country to Bohuslän.

Summer So Far; Midsummer

I have already own up to being bored by summer holiday and eagerly waiting for school to start again. Now it is not very much of the holiday left, and thus the time seem to have come to update about the past months. So, without further ado; Summer So Far (Part One)

Midsummer

Midsummer was perfectly decadently spent with the majority of our neighbours. There was good company, drinks, delicious food, cake, lots of strawberries and a number of games. Everyone was very competitive (in a good way). There was also quite a bit of text messaging on my behalf (just saying). I wore my new size 34 dress and had flowers in my hair. I hurt my leg running (winning). If my team didn't win, we were at least close to winning. We must have been, for we were doing very well. It was a good afternoon and a good evening/night. I went home earlier than most and after falling asleep I dreamt of a number of people; I do not really care for the Supposed to Marry Thing, but I know whose shoulder I prefer sleeping on.

Very well

"Very well emi" I said to my self, "what have you done this summer?"
"Well" I answered "quite a lot actually. What with traveling and all. I guess."

Which brings us to the question as to why this journal been so very, very dead as of lately? There seems to be things worth posting about. It is a question simply answered, I have been meaning to post, but I have also done what I do best; putting it off, thinking I'll get to it later or I'll do it tomorrow. I would like to say that since I spend pretty much the rest of the year around computers I've been enjoying the summer away from them; this is not the case. I have been around them, I have had the time and opportunity to update, but I have not.

Am I really fit to keep a blog I wonder, with all the non-updating and all? Probably not, but I have had this journal for years and I am enjoying writing in it from time to time, so I will keep it. Though I think the time has come to revamp it a bit. I'd love to be computer-savvy so I could make it pretty, but I am not. Before me I have the tedious task of cleaning up among past entries and looking over which communities I'm in, as well of thinking over if I should start typing in Swedish instead of my beloved English. After all, I do think pretty much everyone who reads this are Swedes anyways.

I have also been thinking of changing my LJ username. For no other reasons that perhaps I am growing out of it.  I cut the Poodle locks a long time ago.

I am not promising updates about my summer, as it may or may not be done, but I do hope I get around to it before Christmas.

Dogma

This is how I pass rainy days.

As of late I have found myself passing time by browsing Metamorphose's online shop and drooling over all their amazing clothing. I have been known to do this in the past also. Occasionally I will fall so much in love that I even shop from them (I probably would do this a lot more if I hade more money). It's been several years since I last bought something from them though... until now that is. For now I have this amazing dress coming to me:

It is almost as cute as the absolutely amazing Poodle-print dress I had my heart set on some years ago but which tragically sold out before I hade the opportunity to buy it.

Every time I do buy something from Meta I get confused though. I've not been a dress-girl since I was really little (seriously, like 5 years of age) and I clearly remember being uncomfortable in dresses by the time I was in third grade. I would not buy a dress from just any store. I'm guessing there's just something about Meta's designs that draw me in. I love all my Meta dresses (though after ordering the first one I was kind of doubting my sanity for a while) and I am eagerly anticipating this new addition to the collection (and the half-bonnet, weiih Bonnnnneet! I've wanted one for For Ever!).

I got a small lake in my room.

It's been raining all day, and it doesn't look like it's gonna stop anytime soon either. I got a leak in the roof and the floor in my room is slowly turning into the Loch Ness. Buckets and towels are holding of the flood for now. What do you do a day like this anyways?

I'd trade pretty much anything for a good movie, a cup of tea and a Certain Someone whose shoulder I could slumber on. And maybe a blanket as well 'cause man is this place chilly.

I'm going North

I had planned to throw in some pictures and stuff from Midsummer, but time is flying and I find myself in a state pretty much bordering on panic. Why, you ask, which is only appropriate as I have given no explanation for this behaviour (though the title is kind of a hint). Simply put: I am going on a bit of a journey. I've got a train leaving around 10 tomorrow morning and I'll be travelling further north than I've ever been before. I am very much looking forward to this; not only the train journey (although I quite enjoy travelling by train) but also seeing the people I'm going to visit on again. It's been far too long since last time I saw them. I just finished packing up the last things from here and I am leaving to go to The Apartment to actually finish packing. I'll be away for about a week and I'm pretty sure that time will be pretty awesome.

Also, my cellphone is kinda giving up on me and I will not have the time to buy a new one before I leave, so if you can't reach me, that would be why. Mail is probably your best alternative in this case, although I'm not sure how much time I'll be spending with computers during this time (hopefully not very much).

Summer

Summer holiday bores me. In a manner of speaking. It sure would if I'd allow myself to be bored. As it is, I am trying somewhat desperately to fill my days with...things to do.

Last week I went to Uppsala to see Ylva, which was nice. We walked around looking in different stores and ate pizza and ice cream (cherry and blueberry flavoured) by the canal. And talked about stuff I do not have anyone else to talk about with. My dad was working in Uppsala that week, so I got to accompany him to the Uppsala police forensics department (their board meeting are somewhat hilarious) and the photographer there showed me around, which was kinda awesome.

I also try to spend time in the lab, haven't been there for some days now, but during the two/three days I have been there playing around with Maya I think I've learnt quite a number of things.

It's just above one week since school ended and my classmates (the three of them I spend the most time with anyways) have once again deserted Gävle. Quite frankly I miss seeing them on a daily (nightly, CCG-time) basis.

Futher plans for the summer includes more Lab, planning/writing script for the Pegasus' Theatre Project, working out (Friskis och Svettis summer schedule makes me sad; no aerobics), possibly going to Stockholm and somewhat definitely going to bohuslän to visit grandparents. And a most longed-for trip to the north as well; visiting Lolino The Partner In Crime Lolita Friend of a Glorious Misspent Youth, among other things :P

It's the first time in quite a long time I haven't been looking forward to summer holiday. I can't really relax about it, as I feel I have to occupy myself to avoid going crazy. But if you think about it, my mental health might already be fucked up beyond recovery. We call it CCG08 Mentality:

Yes, I do look forward to going back to school after Summer.

Who the fuck drops TWO dress sizes by eating junk?

Simple answer: Me. Apparently.

I brought my mom and went shopping for dresses for Midsummer. I can no longer fill out a size 38 dress. Nor a 36. I ended up getting a 34. This is a wee bit pathetic. Really. I've been a size 38/40 for YEARS.  And I haven't done anything, save eating junk food and not working out. Wtf wtf wtf?

Good thing half the refrigerator in The Apartment is filled with cupcakes.

(Also, and this is the weird thing: I haven't lost weight, just dropped in size. Around my chest).

Movie Work et Deadline Trailer

´The deadline for Deadline is less than a week away; I am currently transferring movieclips to start cutting the so called 'Rape Scene' (spent Friday night being molested by Ryssen over and over again. Remember this is the person who complained about there not being enough room between my legs... ) and it seems to be taking a while so I thought I'd take the time to update a bit more about this thing we are working on (we being me and my group, not me and my alter egos); The film is more or less based on the programme we're studying; it's CCG08 (or CCG generally if you will) mentality at it's finest. Below is the trailer for Deadline (as we call it, if it will turn out to be the actuall title of the movie is a different matter entierly). Do enjoy.

Otherwise I'm listening to the Frankmusic Remix of Lady Gaga's Eh Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say) which is crack big time. And I have the Pegasus board meeting where I have to present the New Theatre Project coming up in about 45 min, which means I'll have to leave in about 15 min, which in turn should be just about when the transfer is done. Much work I'm getting done here. Also I don't know exactly where I'm going for the board meeting, and the last time I checked the printer in the lab was acting up, so now I'm gonna draw a map from eniro (apparently hitta.se didn't know where I was going either...).

Update Righhhht

Today I...

...walked home from School to Andersberg around 03.30 in the morning.
... found a guy sleeping in a bush during said walk.
... called 112 about said guy. (He seemed to be rather alright though.)
... got home about 04.00 and went to bed even later.
...woke up about 12.30.
... went to Valbo to visit family who got back from Crete about the same time I was talking to the 112 people.
... had dinner with family, it's nice to get food again.
... ordered pretty shit from the internet. I have high hopes for the hoodie I'm getting - I hope it is Serial Killer Repellent, among other things.

Otherwise I...

...fail pretty miserably at updating here.
... have been acting and begging for money at Södersöndag with Pegasus (pictures may come).
... have spent my nights at school working with the film class movie.
...have spent my days sleeping.
... had my classmates cook me food.
... promised to cook for my classmates.
... have a board meeting with Pegasus coming up this Sunday, where I will present all my ideas for Pegasus New Theatre Project (which I will be directing!!).
... have a Information meeting for said project coming up on the 28th.
... am going to go visit Elisabeth and the To Be Mommy Cat of My Kitten (said kitten is not born yet) on Sunday.

Also...

My hair is longer but not long enough for Olov to stop teasing me about it being short.
And
Apparently I don't have enough room between my legs to please Ryssen.

sicko sick

I'm sick. My throat isn't feeling too well and if I don't have I fever I at least feel like I do. It's possibly the worst timing ever. I Don't Have Time to be sick right now. I really don't. The film for film class is due in less than three weeks, but I feel like the work we have to do easily could span over months. To make it worse we can't start shooting until I drag myself back to school ('cause I'm acting) and all I really want to do is sleep. I've spent today sleeping on the floor and resting on the sofa, and I'm going to bed in a moment. Tomorrow I'm going to od on orange juice and milk (and toast! though I doubt that will have any larger effect on the cold).

In other news, I've sent out mails about the information meeting for Pegasus' new project. I can't believe I'll be directing! It's so wicked, I'm really exited about it, and obviously quite nervous too.

Not Doing Coursework

Today I've been vacuum cleaning more or less the entire Apartment (go me!). Partly because it really needed to be done, and partly because it seemed the only way I could justify not working on the Composition for Postproduction class (which is due tomorrow btw).

Now I'm gonna be off to Friskis och Svettis to work out (Bräda? Gissar på att det är typ som Step??) and then I just might have to get back to the Lab.
